Thinking of getting one of these mix cubes?

Well there a very handy reference speaker ive found during mixing,i find myself flicking to the Avantone in mono,they give you an excellent idea of the mid-range within your mix.

I have just a single Avantone mounted on a small mic stand which is pretty handy angled towards my head,i can easily move it around or off axis should i want to

Ive read you need to break these speakers in to get the best out of them ( not sure how true that is )

Who needs Guitar hand positions

Well……So important are good hand positions especially for beginners,plenty of <AIR> between your hand & the neck of the guitar should really help with barre chords,it actually gives you more room on the fretboard side

What i usually see is the palm of the hand touching the neck which ends up giving you less not more!

Check out the hand pics front & back,you rarely seem to find pics from the back perspective which for me is the KEY to good technique,the front perspective i kind of like the tip of the iceberg.

All the ground work is happening from the back,not that what your fingers are doing isn’t important because it is

Don’t forget though these hand positions change Depending on what your playing so no ONE rule fits all im afraid

 

 

 

 

 

A guitar is a two handed instrument

Believe it or not the guitar is a two handed instrument…pick hand & fingering hand,from many yrs of playing & teaching i noticed that alot of the guitars tone not only comes from the fingers BUT also the way the pick strikes the strings..

One top tip is to turn the plectrum onto it side slightly instead of just playing with the tip (works for me ) notice how the tone of the guitar changes depending on how you strike the strings,imagine your hand is a kinda tone control for the guitars sound,the hand should float around the gtr guided by your <EARS>

I find This is especially noticeable with acoustic guitars depending on the body size
